Unlocking the Treasure: Discipleship on the Road to Emmaus

  • Saint Andrew Catholic Church and School 566 4th Street Northwest Elk River, MN, 55330 United States (map)

Don’t miss a special conference co-hosted by the St. Paul Center and St. Andrew Catholic Church and School in Elk River on November 2, 2019. Unlock the Scriptures with Scott Hahn and Jeff Cavins, two renowned leaders in Catholic Scripture study. Learn to encounter Christ in Scripture and accept the challenge of following him in discipleship.

In Luke's Gospel, we're given a powerful example of Christ's personal invitation to discipleship. When Jesus appears to two disciples on the road to Emmaus, he unlocks the Scriptures so that they might encounter him first in Scripture: "Then beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he interpreted to them what referred to him in all the Scriptures" (Luke 24:27). Jesus sets their hearts on fire by breaking open the Scriptures, but it is only in the breaking of the bread that their eyes are opened to who Jesus really is (Luke 24:31-32).

Accept the challenge of discipleship. Like the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, encounter Jesus in Scripture and the Mass, and be sent forth to proclaim with the Apostles, "The Lord has truly been raised" (Luke 24:34).

Register now—don't miss this unique opportunity to study Scripture from the heart of the Church and to encounter Jesus in the Word and the Eucharist.
